Namisun Training Courses

Namisun Environmental Projects and Development (Namisun) is an independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner company that coordinates and facilities various small, medium and large environmental (and social) projects across Namibia. Namisun draws on a large network of reputable (external) subcontractors to provide additional specialist input, as and where required.

In addition to the managing of Environmental (and Social) Impact Assessment (EIA / ESIA) processes and the compiling of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), Namisun conducts audits, offers services for due diligence and review services, and can assist with the onsite design, configuration, and implementation of environmental management systems (EMS), mine closure planning and environmental monitoring.

Namisun also conducts training courses, focusing on addressing the growing demands in the environmental field. One of these courses provides hands-on training on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process in Namibia.

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the EIA process, including its legislative and regulatory frameworks, public consultation and stakeholder engagement, assessment phases and methods, mitigation and management measures, composing an EMP, requirements for approval and decision-making, considerations for the development and implementation of an EMS, and the monitoring, verification and reporting on environmental performance. The course is presented over three days at the Stone Valley Environmental Management Facility outside Swakopmund.

It might be of interest to you that Namisun plans to offer the above-mentioned course again in May 2025 (date to be confirmed).
